The rotating infotainment screen mechanism gets stuck mid-rotation or fails to return to the correct position. The screen can rotate between landscape and portrait orientation via an electric motor. The motor and gear mechanism can jam if the rotation is interrupted. A soft reboot resolves temporary sticking. If the mechanism is physically jammed, the dealer must manually reset the screen assembly. Later software versions include a self-recovery routine.

✅ FixedHard reset fixed the frozen screen
Screen froze completely, no response to touch. Did a hard reset by holding the power button for 10 seconds. System rebooted and has been fine since. BYD released a software update shortly after which seems to have stabilised things.
