These terms apply to all visitors, users, and anyone who submits content to the site.
2. Nature of Content
MyCarFault provides a community-sourced database of vehicle fault reports, diagnostic codes, repair case studies, and general automotive information. The content on this site:
- Is intended for general educational and informational purposes only
- Is based on community experience and may not apply to your specific vehicle

- Does not constitute professional mechanical, engineering, or safety advice
- Does not replace a qualified mechanic, an authorised service centre, or a professional vehicle inspection
3. Safety Warnings
HIGH VOLTAGE / ELECTRIC VEHICLES: Electric and hybrid vehicles contain high-voltage battery systems (typically 48V–800V) that can cause death or serious injury. Never attempt to service, repair, or access high-voltage components without specialist training and equipment. Always follow manufacturer safety procedures.
BRAKING SYSTEMS: Brake system repairs are safety-critical. Incorrect brake repairs can result in brake failure, loss of vehicle control, and fatal accidents. Always have brake work verified by a qualified mechanic.
STEERING SYSTEMS: Steering component repairs are safety-critical. Failure of steering components can result in loss of vehicle control. Always have steering work verified by a qualified mechanic.
FUEL SYSTEMS: Fuel system work presents a risk of fire and explosion. Never work on fuel systems near ignition sources. Ensure adequate ventilation. Have a fire extinguisher nearby.
AIRBAG / SRS SYSTEMS: Airbag and supplemental restraint systems contain explosive charges. Incorrect handling can cause unintended deployment resulting in serious injury. Always disconnect the battery and wait at least 30 minutes before working near airbag components.
The above list is not exhaustive. All vehicle repair work carries inherent risks. When in doubt, consult a professional.

5. Community Content Disclaimer
Content on MyCarFault is contributed by community members and compiled from publicly available sources. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but we cannot verify every submission.
- Fix percentages and "confirmed fix" labels reflect community voting, not professional verification
- "Solved" status means community members have reported success, not that the repair is guaranteed for all vehicles
- Cost estimates are community averages and vary significantly by region, labour rates, and parts supplier
- Classic car information relates to vehicles that may have been modified from original specification
- OBD fault codes may indicate multiple possible causes; a code alone is not a definitive diagnosis
