Land Rover Defender L663 D300 AdBlue fault after cold soak
AdBlue system warning after the Land Rover Defender L663 has been left overnight in temperatures below -5°C. The AdBlue fluid can partially freeze in the tank and delivery pipes, triggering a system warning when the vehicle is started. The system has a heating element that melts the frozen fluid but can take 10-15 minutes in extreme cold. Do not top up AdBlue in freezing conditions as new cold fluid can accelerate freezing. Allow the vehicle to warm fully before driving if AdBlue warning appears after a cold soak.
