Nissan Qashqai J11 CVT transmission jerking at low speed
The CVT transmission jerks or lurches during low-speed acceleration from rest. The Jatco CVT7 used in the Qashqai J11 with the 1.2 DIG-T petrol engine is prone to this behaviour when the CVT fluid degrades. Changing the CVT fluid at 40,000 km intervals rather than the stated 90,000 km significantly reduces the jerking. Using only the correct Nissan NS-3 CVT fluid is essential — generic ATF causes permanent damage.
