Audi A4 B8 2.0 TDI S-tronic mechatronic fault
Gearbox warning light with the S-tronic transmission entering limp mode. The S-tronic DSG on the Audi A4 B8 uses the same DQ250 mechatronic unit as VW DSG models and is subject to the same failure modes. Worn solenoid seals in the mechatronic unit cause hydraulic pressure loss and incorrect gear selection. Mechatronic replacement or rebuild resolves the fault. Always change the DSG fluid (G 052 182) at the same time.
