BMW 730d Brake Servo Vacuum Pump Failure
Diesel engines use a vacuum pump to generate the brake servo vacuum that provides power assistance. On M57N/N2 engines the vacuum pump can wear, reducing brake assistance. The brake pedal feels very hard and requires significantly more force. This is a safety issue requiring immediate attention. The vacuum pump is driven from the exhaust camshaft.
