Knock sensor codes: The sensor itself detecting false or no signal. 1) Check if you are using correct octane fuel. 2) Knock sensor location — often on engine block, connector can corrode. Disconnect and clean connector with electronics cleaner. 3) Bad sensor giving false readings — ECU retards ignition timing as precaution, causing sluggish performance and poor fuel economy. 4) Replace knock sensor if cleaning connector does not help. Not immediately dangerous but timing retard from precautionary ECU behavior hurts performance and economy.
