🔴 Fix Immediately

Catastrophic engine failure on the VW Transporter T5 with the 2.0 BiTDI CFCA engine caused by camshaft follower (tappet) wear through the follower body. The follower that drives the high-pressure fuel pump wears through, damaging the camshaft. This fault has been widely reported and resulted in VW extending the warranty on affected engines. The camshaft follower must be inspected every 10,000 km (or 20,000 km if the updated follower is fitted) and replaced if worn beyond 1.9mm thickness.
