🟢 Low Priority

Engine management light with fault code P0299 turbocharger underboost condition. Loss of power, particularly above 3000 RPM. On TSI and TDI engined Golf models the most common cause is a split or disconnected turbocharger boost hose. Inspect all hoses from the turbocharger to the throttle body carefully, paying particular attention to the hose from the intercooler outlet. A hissing sound under acceleration confirms an air leak. Hose repair kits are available and are far cheaper than replacing the turbocharger.
