The BYD Atto 3 charges at significantly below the rated 7kW AC charging speed. The onboard charger module can develop a fault causing it to operate at 3.3kW or lower. A software update via the BYD dealer resolves the charging speed issue in most cases. If the software update does not restore full charging speed, the onboard charger module itself requires replacement. Always use a Type 2 cable from a reputable manufacturer for reliable AC charging.
