Mitsubishi L200 Mk5 2.4 MIVEC DI-D EGR fault
Engine management light on the Mitsubishi L200 Mk5 2.4 MIVEC diesel. The EGR valve accumulates carbon deposits rapidly on the L200 due to its use for towing and off-road driving which generates higher than normal EGR temperatures. A quality EGR clean every 40,000 km prevents the fault developing. If the EGR valve actuator mechanism has seized, replacement is required. Ensure the EGR cooler is inspected simultaneously — L200 EGR coolers can develop internal cracks.
