Rear differential lock warning light and inability to engage the rear diff lock on the Mitsubishi L200. The electronic actuator for the rear differential lock can fail due to water ingress — the actuator housing is not fully sealed against deep water wading. Replacement actuators are available from Mitsubishi and independent suppliers. Apply dielectric grease to the connector to prevent moisture ingress after repair. Switch was fine, wiring was fine. The actuator motor that physically locks the diff had seized. New actuator from Mitsubishi was £285. Mechanic said this is common after the truck has sat for a long time without the 4WD being used. Exercise all 4WD modes regularly.
