Shuddering and hunting from the 9-speed automatic gearbox on the Opel Insignia B 2.0 CDTi. The 9G-Tronic derived transmission is sensitive to torque converter shudder when the transmission fluid is degraded. A transmission fluid change with the correct GM-specification fluid resolves the shudder in most cases. GM has also issued TCU software updates for affected vehicles. Ensure the fluid is changed at 60,000 km intervals rather than relying on the stated lifetime fill.
