🟡 Toyota Hilux 1KD-FTV 3.0 cracked cylinder head

Coolant loss, white exhaust smoke, and overheating on the Toyota Hilux with the 1KD-FTV 3.0 D4D engine. The 1KD-FTV has a known cylinder head cracking issue, particularly affecting vehicles used in dusty environments where the intercooler piping becomes restricted. Toyota issued a service campaign replacing cylinder heads on affected vehicles. If the engine has overheated, the head must be pressure tested before reuse. An aluminium head replacement with improved casting is available from Toyota.
