BMW 3 Series Diesel Gelling Cold Weather — CFPP Issue
In temperatures below -12°C, standard summer diesel can gel and block fuel filters on BMW diesel engines. The car cranks but does not start, or runs roughly. Use winter diesel (CFPP below -20°C) or add diesel anti-gel additive. Thawing the fuel filter in a warm garage resolves the issue.
