DSG warning light and fault code 17106 or P0722 output speed sensor signal implausible. The gearbox enters failsafe mode and limits to one or two gears. The output speed sensor and its wiring harness are prone to corrosion in the gearbox casing. Cleaning the connector and applying dielectric grease resolves the fault in many cases. If the fault returns, the sensor itself requires replacement.
