Vehicle stuck in one gear, will not select reverse, or has no drive at all. The mechatronic unit inside the DSG gearbox controls all gear selection functions via a hydraulic circuit. The internal seals and solenoids fail with age, particularly in the DQ250 wet clutch version. Replacement mechatronic units are available from VW dealers and independent specialists. Always change the DSG fluid when replacing the mechatronic unit.
